Poker Etiquettes
Like any other sport, the poker also has its own set of rules regarding proper behavior known as poker etiquettes. All the poker players are supposed to follow these basic etiquettes in poker. Following poker etiquettes are necessary to maintain a proper decorum of a place where poker game is going on. The players who don't abide by the said rules are either reprimanded or thrown out and in very serious instances are blacklisted. Therefore, to save yourself from such embarrassing, it is best to comply with these rules of poker etiquettes.
The etiquettes in poker just like any other rules on proper behavior are meant to proper atmosphere in the casino, ensuring safety of the players, fairness of the game. However, the etiquettes in poker are not concerned about just behaving properly. There is more to it and they include certain technical things that may seem quite fine anywhere else but are deemed as unacceptable behavior in poker.
Listed below are some of the important things which a player should be aware of when talking about poker:
• One should always be polite.• One should never use abusive language.
• One should show modest behavior upon winning the game.
• One must refrain himself/ herself from criticizing another player’s game.
• Don’t chat unnecessarily as it will disturb the active players.
• One should always be kind towards the dealer. Because good karma brings good cards.
• One should never put string bet and splash the pot.
• It is not a good poker etiquette to announce verbally your action,
specifically particularly in games where there are non-professional dealers. • To make it easier for the dealer, one should always place the chips and discards as far forward as reasonably possible.
• Never expose any cards until the showdown and never ever declare your hands incorrectly.
• Always manage your table space reasonably and keep your chips on the table.
• Never handle another player's chips or cards.
• Never stack chips in a way which is interfering with he deal, or is viewing the cards of fellow players.
• One should always play poker games at the reasonable pace.
• It is a poker etiquette and responsibility of each player to follow the flow of the game. Therefore always play when your turn comes and never act out of turn.
• At no time should any player or spectator make statements that could unfairly influence the play of a hand.
• Never make comments about the cards which you have just thrown away.
• Refrain from making comments about possible hands.
